Creation

Okay, WildRootsWoman wanted to see our work in progress, so I will start this and add to it as we progress.
This is Healer's 1 1/2 week block, painting the seven days of Creation.
I wish the colors looked more like they do on his paintings. We will start writing on the backs next week. Some days we did more than one painting.

Healer tends to get a bit worried when we are going to do lots of writing, especially when we are doing it on the back of a piece of art he has put a lot of effort into. So I made him a handwriting worksheet using the font: School Script Dashed, which gives him  a chance to write out some of the trickier words ahead of time. Some words I chose because their spelling will be difficult, some words I chose because I thought he might need some extra practice with certain letters (like the capital G in God). You can see off to the side I had him practice his k's when I noticed he was forming them incorrectly. We had a heated debate about how to correctly form a k in order to keep it fast, fluid, and legible. In the end, he grudgingly practiced it my way.

When he was finished, he sewed a seam on one side to make the paintings into a book.

These photos are all updated because I was able to take better ones that looked truer to the paintings. For some reason I'm having a hard time getting text in between some of the paintings, but Day 6 was the beasts and man and woman, and the seventh day is God resting from his work.

  1. Yay! Thanks, mama! This is so good for me to see...being the visual person that I am. Beautiful...love the birds painting. The cover shines right off the page! And tell Healer I think he has beautiful handwriting!
